ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steelmaker,
plans to bankroll a string of health centres in India in a bid to
reduce infant mortality in the country.
The steel giant is powering into India now and considers it as a
priority, while China is the next big target, Aditya Mittal, Chief
Finance Officer of the company and son of NRI steel tycoon Lakshmi
Mittal, said in an interview published in a leading newspaper.
ArcelorMittal has "plans to bankroll a string of health centres there
to reduce infant mortality." Mittal's wife, a former Goldmans Sachs
banker, will co-ordinate the project.
